Olivia has a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Composition and Rhetoric. Her favorite phase of writing is the brainstorming/invention phase because there are so many possibilities to explore. She loves watching Marvel movies with her family, trying new recipes for her weekly meal prepping sprees, and making people smile.
Dr. Melissa Bugdal (she/her)
Dr. Melissa Bugdal is an Assistant Professor of English and the Director of the University Writing Center. She has a PhD in English from the University of Connecticut, and loves being back on the Eastern Shore (she got her MA in Composition and Rhetoric from SU)! Dr. B first became interested in writing center work as an undergraduate peer consultant at Wilkes University while also working in a biology lab studying the food behaviors of eastern gray squirrels. As a result of her own interdisciplinary experiences, Dr. B’s work focuses on writing knowledge transfer and writing across the curriculum. When she’s not teaching or in the UWC, Dr. B enjoys being outside, reading, watching sports, and taking her dog Elli along on adventures.
