Outdoor Leadership Academy
This program provides an introduction to the core components of stewardship of the environment, and the development of adventure-based leadership skills. Principles of first aid in wilderness settings and strategies for providing care in inclement weather, will also be explored. Students will spend time in and out of the classroom to fully benefit from the experience of adventure in education.

- 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- High School (must be age 14)
- $300 - Students complete the Student Leadership Practices Inventory Certification, which costs an additional $27 – to be collected upon completion.
This program provides an introduction to the principles of first aid in wilderness settings, including patient or sub-assessment and care for open wounds, infection, fractures, dislocations and other life-threatening conditions. Study strategies for providing care in inclement weather and with alternative standard equipment is included. Special focus is placed upon evacuation techniques as well as best practices for monitoring and documenting patient status. Certification is available. Core components of the program include stewardship of the environment and the development of adventure-based leadership skills.
Price of full-day academies includes all-you-care-to-eat lunch at The Commons.
