Turnitin Plagiarism Prevention
Salisbury University is utilizing Turnitin Originality Check plagiarism prevention service through MyClasses. The plagiarism prevention service provides a systematic approach to detecting plagiarism, especially the "copy and paste" method, by detecting unoriginal content. Through the electronic submission of papers, the service will generate an originality report comparing the paper with Internet resources, the academic scholarly databases of journal articles and periodicals as well as work submitted by other students across the country. In addition to acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in educating students about plagiarism and importance of proper attribution of any borrowed content.
Turnitin has released a major product upgrade that is now available to all Turnitin users at SU. The new version of the service, called Turnitin Feedback Studio, offers all the functionalities of Turnitin, but with a simplified, more intuitive interface designed for the modern classroom. Turnitin Feedback Studio will make it faster and easier than ever to promote academic integrity, provide actionable feedback, and evaluate student learning at SU.
Starting Fall 2016 you will see a new interface when you open up a student’s paper in Turnitin. Your students will also experience this new and improved interface when viewing Similarity Reports and receiving feedback.
