Dr. Christy Weer, Dean Associate Professor of Management
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. We offer a comprehensive curriculum with seven undergraduate majors including Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting, Business Economics, Finance, Information Systems, International Business, Management, and Marketing as well as the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. We offer full-time and part-time MBA programs with evening-classes tailored to fit the schedules of working individuals. We are pleased to announce that these programs were recently reaccredited by AACSB, the highest standard for business schools worldwide. This reaccreditation affirms the quality of our programs, faculty, staff, and students and recognizes our commitment to delivering a high-quality business education.
There are many reasons to explore the Perdue School of Business. Not only are we committed to providing the highest level of business education within the classroom, we also understand the importance of experiential learning. Did you know that last year our students competed nationally as well as internationally in numerous experiential competitions, earned SAP TERP10 and Bloomberg certifications, and even stood on the NYSE trading floor and observed the closing bell ceremony? Moreover, some of our students pitched ideas to the casting crew of Shark Tank, the highly popular TV show, when they held casting calls here in Perdue Hall. Our fingers are crossed that we might see some of those blooming entrepreneurs pitching their ideas on national television. In addition, the Perdue School awarded over $260,000 in cash and prizes in entrepreneurial-focused competitions last year, thus giving our students opportunities to move their entrepreneurial visions to reality. These are just a few of the ways in which Perdue students enhance the knowledge gained in the classroom through real-world experiences. If opportunities such as these pique your interest, I encourage you to explore our programs and welcome you to visit our beautiful 113,000 square-foot, state of the art building which opened in fall 2011.
I look forward to seeing you on campus!
Christy H. Weer
