Upload and Link to a File (PDF, Word, etc.)

Uploading the file

  1. Select the "Add Content" button at the top of the CMS. This will open a drop down, select "New File" from the drop down:

  2. The “New File” page loads. On this page:
  1. Choose the Placement Folder in the CMS to upload the file (if you don’t do this, you can always move the file later, if needed)
  2. Choose a file name. This is the name of the file inside the CMS and is not seen outside of the CMS. (For organizational reasons you want to give it a file name that refers to the content in the file.)
  3. Click the area that says "Drop a file here or choose one from your computer" to browse to the file and select it - or - drag and drop the file from it's location on your computer or network drive to the "New File" page:
  4. Click "Save & Preview" at the top of the "New File" page.
  5. Publish the file by clicking the "Publish" tab in the right hand corner of the CMS. Then checking "Local Filesystem" and then the "Submit" tab at the top. This completes uploading the file to the CMS.

Open the page for editing - then follow these steps:

  1. Click inside the wysiwyg editor and enter text and then select it - or - select existing text.
  2. Click the link icon link iconon the tool bar (this button will be not active until text or an image is selected) - the "Insert/Edit Link" dialog box appears:

  3. Click "Choose File, Page or Link" to browse to the file you uploaded and select it.
  4. Click "ok"
  5. If you are done editing the page, click "Save & Preview" to save your changes.
  6. If you are ready to make your changes live, click the "Publish" tab in the right hand corner of the CMS. Then checking "Local Filesystem" and then the "Submit" tab at the top.
