Response Plan
The students will have the duration of the field exper= ience (4 weeks) to develop their case study.&nbs= p; Prior to the field experience, they will read a sample case study and answer the corresponding questions. This will allow them to understand the nature of a case study and the necessary requirements needed to construct it.
Students will complete their case studies in five stag= es. All students will meet in groups du= ring class to peer-review work at each stage. The following is a sample timeframe for the completion of the case study.
Stage One:&nbs= p; Complete an initial description of the case (student) by the end of = the second practicum experience (end of week one). Some assistance from the APE teacher or paraeducator will be necessary.
Stage Two:&nbs= p; Complete the basic research portion of the student’s disabilit= y by the completion of the sixth practicum experience (end of week two). Provide a basic background and com= mon characteristics as they relate to the specific case.
Stage Three:&n= bsp; Complete a description of related goals and objectives for the stude= nt in each of the three domains of learning (end of week two).
Stage Four:&nb= sp; Review and modify each of the previously completed components as nee= ded (end of week three).
Stage Five:&nb= sp; Complete an analysis of the activities in which the child participat= ed and the modifications utilized at the completion of the eighth practicum experience (end of week 4). <= /p>
Stage Six:&nbs= p; Complete a description of the least restrictive environment and final reflection of your practicum experience and working with the child used for your case study (end of week four). A completed case study is d= ue at the beginning of the next class meeting after the practicum experience.=
