The Department of Media Services
supports the university by providing video services to support
instruction, operates the campus cable TV system, supports
distance learning on the IVN systems (USM IP based
teleconferencing), and supports the television production
program in the Department of Communication Arts.
In the Fall 2008 SU is offering over 20 classes over IP video
throughout the state.
Media Services also
provides engineering support to PAC14, the
Wicomico County Public Access TV channel.
Integrated Media Center (IMC) -
Opened September 2008!
The IMC operates a
standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video studios in the
Teacher Education and Technology Center. The facility
includes 15 video editing bays
running AVID and Final Cut Pro, control rooms, sets,
and a small production studio.
For audio recording, we provide a full production recording facility
with 96 channel, 24 track recording systems. We also have 5 audio
editing suites running ProTools. THE IMC
operates on both the MAC and PC platforms.
