I already work here, why should I give?
You have already answered your question. We each should give because we
work at SU. We each care about SU in our own way. The Faculty-Staff
Campaign allows each of us to support a part of the University that is
important to us. Additionally, a strong foundation of giving within the
University sends an important message to prospective donors in the
community.
Where does my money go?
You have many choices, but we could not begin to list them all. Many of
your colleagues choose to restrict their Salisbury University Annual
gifts to a specific department or program, while others might give
to support technology improvements, the library, Varsity Club
(athletics) or the many scholarships that are available to our students.
Finally, other colleagues may choose to make an unrestricted gift, those
not restricted for a specific purpose, to provide support where the need
is greatest. Unrestricted gifts enable the University to fund areas of
critical need and take advantage of unexpected opportunities that will
benefit the University.
How can I give?
There are five ways to make a contribution:
- Complete a current payroll deduction form to have a portion of your
gift automatically deducted from each paycheck.
Link to
payroll deduction table.
- Send a personal check made payable to Salisbury University
Foundation Inc. to the Salisbury University Annual Fund (P.O. Box 2655,
Salisbury, MD 21802-2655).
- Charge your gift to your credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American
Express) by phone (410-543-6042) or online at
http://alumni.salisbury.edu/donations
- Make a gift of appreciated securities.
- Make a "gift-in-kind." In addition to gifts of cash, many people
donate books, pieces of art, lab equipment, etc.
Please contact the Office of Alumni Relations/Annual
Giving office at
410-543-6042 if you wish to make a gift by payroll deduction, credit
card, appreciated securities or a gift-in-kind.
Why does my contribution go the University of Maryland Foundation
Inc.?
All faculty-staff contributions received from the 11 University System
of Maryland (USM) universities are deposited into the University of
Maryland Foundation account. Once the donations have been processed, all
contributions are returned, in their full amount, to the Salisbury
University Foundation Inc. This is the accepted procedure for all
universities within the USM.
How will my gift be recognized?
All faculty-staff contributions made prior to the end of the fiscal
year (June 30) will be listed in the next Annual Report.
