Students and faculty are invited to nominate faculty mentors who have proven excellent supervisors of student research or creative work. The award will be given during a brief ceremony at the Salisbury University Student Research Conference (April 24th), and will recognize a faculty member who has inspired excellence in independent student projects (whether creative, performance, case study, or research based). We seek nominations from all disciplines taught at the university. Nominating students and faculty are asked to write a brief letter (2 page limit) addressing the nominee’s performance as a mentor, including, where relevant, a history of projects supervised, particular benefits to former students, the quality of student work, and students who have been inspired to go on to further independent projects and community work. The deadline for this letter of nomination is April 2. Upon the receipt of the nomination letters, faculty will be asked to provide additional information to the committee (details will be provided to nominees). Letters of nomination are to be sent to Gene Williams, Biology Department (eewilliams@salisbury.edu), by April 2, 2009 at midnight.
