School Black Box Theatre at Salisbury University
The
Biron Theatre Scholarship (up to $2,000 a year for four
years) is awarded to
an incoming freshman
theatre major with a declared track in performance or design &
production who has achieved a 3.0
high school GPA and
shown outstanding dedication and exceptional promise in theatre.

student's account. The recipient may qualify for
annual renewal if the
stipulations and requirements are met,
including a full-time load, 3.0 GPA, contribution to all
productions under the guidance of the Bobbi Biron Theatre
Program artistic director, and serving as a student representative
to and for the
theatre program and the Department of Theatre and Dance. |
Gerald and Bette Jane Patt Scholarship
in Theatre
This is awarded (up to $300) to an incoming
freshman theatre
major with declared track who has achieved a 3.0 GPA and shown
outstanding
achievement and promise in theatre. The scholarship is credited
to the student's account. The recipient may qualify for
annual renewal if the
stipulations and requirements are met,

Each spring semester, a campus-wide Honors
Convocation recognizes students who have made outstanding
contributions to campus life and who have distinguished
themselves academically. High-achieving students in Theatre and
Dance are presented with the following:
Leland Starnes Memorial
Scholarship
in Theatre
Scholarship to one
sophomore or junior theatre major whose
work has demonstrated promise in growth as an
artist, whose pursuit of excellence is
foremost, and whose habits reflect professionalism. The
scholarship is given as an academic memorial in honor of Dr.
Leland Starnes who firmly established the reputation of
Salisbury University for quality theatre. Students are
considered by application to the department chair in February of
each spring semester. The criteria for eligibility is sophomore
or junior status as a Theatre-BA major; full-time enrollment and
a minimum 3.0 GPA at the start of spring term; and, background
and participation in theatre.
Joanne Young Award in Theatre
Monetary awards
to
two theatre majors who have demonstrated hard work, dependability and dedication to
the art and craft of theatre.
National Dance Association
Outstanding Dance Minor Award
Certificate to an outstanding dance minor who
demonstrates scholarship defined by a 3.0 overall GPA,
3.3 minor GPA, and at least 15 hours in and current enrollment
in dance, participation and membership in the SU Dance Company, and leadership in
dance. |
