Department Welcome & Information Meeting is held the first Tuesday of

SU Dance Company entrance auditions are held on the first
Monday of fall and spring semester in the Maggs Physical

Audition

Dance
Dancers arrive warmed up by 4:15 p.m. to
sign-in and submit a copy of the completed
Dance Audition Form. Required dress is a black leotard,
footless or convertible tights, bare feet, ballet slippers and
jazz shoes (no sneakers). Ballet, jazz and modern/contemporary
combinations are judged for appearance, technique, musicality,
and the ability to pick up combinations quickly. The roster will
be posted outside the Dance Studio. Students must enroll in DANC
106 Dance Company for 1.0 hour credit. The $15 course fee will
be billed to the student’s account. Dance Company meets
4:30-6:30 p.m. on Mondays.

Theatre
Actors should print, study and bring a copy of the script and two copies of
the completed
Theatre Audition Form.
Theatre majors are required, and
members of the local community are
invited, to participate.
Auditions may require a cold reading from the script,
a prepared reading from an online script, or an
impromptu acting exercise. Be familiar with
the play and be prepared to try. Casting is based on readings,
attitude, flexibility and set body types to present a variety of
character forms. Theatre callback and cast lists will be posted
on the Call Board by Fulton Hall 203.
