How much steel does it take to build the framework of Salisbury University’s new Teacher Education and Technology Center? Would you believe 310 elephants’ worth? The 1,550 tons of steel used to erect the building is equal to the average mass of 310 pachyderms. Once completed, the building also will feature more than 250,000 pounds of recycled materials (the equivalent of over 7.5 million soda cans) and some 532,073 bricks (about 67 miles’ worth laid end-to-end, enough to stretch into outer space). Click here for more fun facts about the new Teacher Education and Technology Center.
