Dr. Diallo Sessoms
Dr. Diallo Sessoms is an Assistant Professor of Educational Technology at Salisbury University. He has
earned a B.A. in Sociology and a M.Ed. in Educational
Evaluation from the University of Virginia. He has also
earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at the
University of Virginia.
His professional career has
been shaped by integrating technology in the P-12
classroom and training teachers to integrate technology
and has taught middle/secondary math courses for ten
years. Dr. Sessoms was a teaching Fellow for the Center
for Technology and Teacher Education at the University
of Virginia where he taught pre-service teachers to
effectively integrate a variety of technologies in math,
science, health and physical education, elementary
education, and special education.
Dr. Sessoms is interested in how interactive boards
can enhance the teaching and learning process in various
areas such as elementary education, special education,
and mathematics. In addition to teaching, he looks
forward to training teachers and advancing the field of
instructional technology. His other interests include
digital storytelling and web based applications for the
classroom.
Dr. Sessoms has presented at E-Tech Ohio (Education
Technology in Ohio) and the SITE Conference (Society for
Information Technology and Teacher Education) on
Smartboard Integration. Professional affiliations
include ISTE (International Society for Technology in
Education) and VSTE (Virginia Society for Technology in
Education).
