Department of Teacher Education

Sara Elburn

Mrs. Sara Elburn is a full-time contractual instructor for the Department of Teacher Education. She holds a B.S. of Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Salisbury University and a M.S. in Technology for Educators from Johns Hopkins University.  Her concentration is integrating technology into instruction.

Mrs. Elburn works with teacher candidates in the undergraduate program, teaching EDUC 318:  Computers in Education.  In addition to teaching courses, she is the Professional Development Schools Liaison to Pinehurst Elementary School in Wicomico County.  She also acts as the Adjunct Instructor Liaison, assisting part-time faculty who teach in both departments.  Mrs. Elburn is the Center for Technology in Education computer lab director, assisting students and faculty with technology needs and professional development.

Mrs. Elburn has provided Teaching and Learning Resources workshops for faculty campus-wide that use the My Classes @ SU course management system.  Mrs. Elburn participated in the university’s 2006-2007 pilot for using the Turning Point student response system in her classes.  She has also completed Quality Matters peer reviewer training for evaluating online courses.  Mrs. Elburn presented at the Maryland Instructional Computer Coordinators Association, and is a former participant in the Maryland Technology Academy.  She also co-presents workshops for teachers in surrounding Professional Development Schools.
