Dr. Chin-Hsiu Chen
Dr. Chin-Hsiu Chen is an
Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at Salisbury
University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary
Education from State University of New York at Geneseo, a M. Ed.
in Curriculum Studies and a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education
from University of Victoria (Canada). Her academic interests and
specialties are community play space, child development,
multicultural education, international studies, curriculum
development, and early schooling experiences.
Dr. Chin-Hsiu Chen has presented research papers at the OMEP
International Conference, International Play Association (IPA),
Association for the Study of Play (TASP), and International
Congress of Psychology (ICP). Her scholarly work has been
involved in collaborating with the B.C. Ministry of Children and
Family Development, Canadian Institutes of Health Research,
Canadian International Development Agency, West China University
of Medical Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Chen has been a member of the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC); Association for Childhood
Education International (ACEI); Canadian Association for Young
Children; Early Childhood Education Diversity Network; and
Taiwanese National Association of Early Childhood Educators.
