Dr. Leticia Ortega
Dr. Leticia Ortega is an
Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at Salisbury
University. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Language and
Literacy Education from the Universidad Nacional del Comahue in
Argentina. She attended graduate school at the Pennsylvania
State University, where she obtained an M.A. in Applied
Linguistics and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.
Her interests include language policy and the literacy
development of bilingual students, digital literacies and uses
of technology in reading and writing classrooms, children’s
literature, and professional partnerships between the university
and local schools. She teaches courses in reading instruction
and supervises student teachers in local schools.
Dr. Ortega has presented papers at the national conventions of
the National Council of Teachers of English, the International
Reading Association, the National Reading Conference, and the
Curriculum and Pedagogy Conference. She is a member of the
National Association for Bilingual Education.
