What is the University Sustainability Committee (USC)? The USC is a committee comprised of students, faculty and staff who work toward developing and promoting the use of environmentally sound practices campus-wide and to incorporate sustainability into the delivery of instruction. In addition, the committee works to assure the accomplishment of the objectives under the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment. Among those objectives are a biennial public reporting of the university greenhouse gas emissions (carbon footprint) on even numbered years and development of a comprehensive Climate Action Plan in 2011 with biennial updates thereafter.

Have a topic for the committee to consider? Contact one of the members of the committee and ask them to present it or contact Wayne Shelton and provide a description of your topic for consideration. The committee hears these requests and, after due consideration, provides recommendations to the appropriate department or group.
