Oral Presentation Resources

Oral panel presenters will have fifteen minutes to present their work and five minutes to take questions.  They may read their paper, speak from an outline, or make a power point presentation, whichever is appropriate for their field and project.  We will provide a computer with CD, Microsoft Office software, DVD player, VCR, and TV in each classroom.  Presenters must plan to arrive at the presentation room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of their session to setup any audio-visual equipment and meet the session moderator and other presenters.  Presenters must plan on attending their session for the entire time it is held to provide support for their fellow presenters.  Presenters should be well prepared, speak slowly and clearly, make regular eye contact with their audience and avoid physical or verbal mannerisms that would detract from the effectiveness of their talk.

Poster Presentation Resources

The poster presentation session will take place in the Wicomico Room from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on the day of the conference.  This room will be set up for the posters as well as light refreshments.  Presenters are expected to be available to take any questions about their research for the full session.  Poster presenters must ensure that their posters are set up by the beginning of this session.  Plan to arrive no later than 5:45pm.  Posters can be as large as 4 ft X 5 ft, but we prefer that they do not utilize this full area.  Posters must be mounted to cardboard or another rigid material.  We recommend using a tri-fold poster board sold at retailers including Office Max, Staples, the campus bookstore, and Wal-Mart.  Posters will be displayed on the fronts and backs of tabletops. (We expect to display six posters on every two tables).  Posters on tri-fold boards are self-supporting and can be easily displayed on the tabletops. The mounted posters (those attached to cardboard or another rigid material) can also be leaned against metal stands (but these stands will be provided in limited numbers) for tabletop display. No other supports may be brought by presenters.
