JESS MULLINS

Jess MullinsI am a graduate student concentrating in Post-Secondary Education. I am from Severna Park, Maryland. I am involved in many clubs including team captain for Relay for Life, Appropriations Board Representative, ASAP Peer Leader, Delta Kappa, Treasurer of Phi Eta Sigma, VP of Omicron, SGA Senator, ACE former president, Education Club (former VP), Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi and more! I enjoy hanging out with my friends and scrap booking. I remember when I was a freshman, I was so scared about college and did not know too many people here yet, but over the years I have made many amazing friends. Being involved in clubs as well as working in student affairs has allowed me to meet many people. My advice to all you freshman is to: Get Involved! Be Yourself! Have Fun! Go to the teacher's office hours! Make wise decisions! Meet new people! Manage your time! Branch out and try something new! Use you agenda! Find your passion! Work hard! Be there! Play! Choose your Attitude!

 

JEN POOLE

Jen PooleI am a senior, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Psychology. I am from Westminister, Maryland. I am involved in Phi Eta Sigma, ODK, University Host and I am the SGA President. I like hanging out with friends, dancing and having fun! My best memory of SU is being inducted as President of SGA. I felt like I really belonged here and that I had a lot of positive support from campus. I advice freshman to just remember to be yourself!

 

BETH DEPOT

Beth DepotI am a senior, majoring in Social Work and minoring in Psychology and History. I am from Westminster, Maryland. I am Executive VP of SGA and Social work club's treasurer, I am involved in SOAP and Leash on Life club. I enjoy sleeping, shopping, going to the beach and hanging out with my roommates and friends. My best memory of SU is just having fun one day with friends and going to do different things like shopping and going to the beach and having fun later that night with friends. My advice to the freshman is to get involved in groups or clubs and learn to manage your time!

 

ASHLEY LUCK

Ashley LuckI am a junior majoring in Biology, Secondary Education. I am from Waldorf, MD. In my spare time I enjoy working on my scrapbook, sleeping, and spending time with my wonderful boyfriend and friends! I am active with Relay for Life (I have been a Team Captain in the past and am currently the online co-chair, I am VP of the Education Club, I am in Kappa Delta Pi and I am an RA. My best memory for my preview session was picking out my schedule and helping people I had never met before in my life, pick out their classes. I remember trying to get classes with someone I had met at Preview, just so I could 'know' someone on the first day. All of the older students helping us with scheduling were extremely friendly and helpful! My advice to the incoming freshman is to: Just be yourself and have fun, but do not forget what you are here for!

RACHEL FITZGERALD

Rachel FitzgeraldI am a senior, majoring in Mathematics with a Secondary Education Concentration. I am from Landover, Maryland. I enjoy going to the movies,
hanging out with friends and going to the beach. I am involved in Kappa Delta Pi, Education Club, Math Club, Bowling Club and Food Committee. My best memory at SU was working with Habitat for Humanity organizing their new store. We painted, moved furniture and had a great time. My words of wisdom to the incoming freshman are to: Study hard, Get active on campus and most of all HAVE FUN!! Enjoy and make the most of your college experience!

 

DEVON BROTHERS

Devon BrothersI am a junior, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Political Science. I am from Long Valley, New Jersey. I work at the Office of New Student Experience as well as being involved in an array of activities, including ASAP Peer Leader, Treasurer for SOAP, IMA, Beta Alpha Psi and more. I enjoy working out, running, all outdoor activities and hanging out with my friends. My best experience at SU has been all of the wonderful people I have met and learned from along the way.

 

UMAIR AFRIDI

Umair AfridiI am a senior, dual majoring in Physics and Engineering and minoring in Mathematics. I am from Pakistan but I ended up in Salisbury and grew up here. I am involved in many clubs, I am a brother of Sigma Pi International Fraternity, head of the Philanthropy committee. President of the Muslim Student Association, and an ASAP Peer Leader. I also work at Verizon Wireless. I like to play sports, hang out with friends and party. One of my best memories at SU is getting involved, especially with the fraternity. My advice to incoming freshman is: Work Hard, Play Harder!

 

JAYNE FLANNERY

Jayne FlanneryI am from Rockville, MD. I'm currently a senior, and I'm majoring in Information Systems, with a minor in Accounting. This will be my third year being involved in Welcome Week for incoming freshman. I work on campus as a Network Assistant. I've also participated in many intramurals such as flag football, soccer, softball, floor hockey and yes even dodge ball. In my spare time I like to go to the beach and be active. My favorite memory of the preview session was being able to meet people before I moved in, it made the transition a lot easier. I would advise you all to be as open as possible. There are many diverse people here and the more open you are, the more you can learn about yourself and others! Good Luck!

 

IAN POTTS

Ian PottsI am a junior, majoring in Graphic Design. I am from Glen Burnie, Maryland. I am the webmaster for the Student Government Association. I enjoy playing the guitar, and art especially web design and graphic design. My best memory at SU is getting the opportunity to work with enthusiastic and professional people on a number of projects!
