PREVIEW (Summer Advising & Course Registration for New Students)

8-9 a.m.
Registration and Continental Breakfast
Guerrieri University Center - Concourse and Main Lounge
Students will receive orientation folders and will have identification photos taken.

8-9 a.m.
Foreign Language Placement Test
Guerrieri University Center – Computer Lab Room 133
Take a computerized foreign language placement test in 30 minutes or less in French, Spanish or German to help you decide if you want to take a foreign language at Salisbury University and to see if you are eligible to buy college credits based on work completed in high school.

8-9 a.m.
New Student Experience Seminars

Representatives of the SU faculty, Dr. Darrell Mullins, Communication Arts, and Dr. Arlene White, Modern Languages will talk about academics at SU; providing students an opportunity to discuss concerns and expectations and to ask questions relating to University academic life.

Information Center
During lunch, representatives of the following offices will be present: Athletics and Recreation, University Dining Services, Student Health Services, Residence Life, New Student Seminar Options, Student Activities, Organizations & Leadership, Career Services, University Police, Study Abroad, Performing Ensembles, Telecommunications Telephone & Internet Services, Freshman Textbook Reservation Service (University Bookstore), Disabled Student Services, and Gull Card.

Noon-1 p.m.
Lunch
The Commons – Dorchester Room
Students and their families will meet for lunch in the Dorchester Room. Students will be assigned to an advising group before they leave the dining hall. Students MUST be in the Dorchester Room at 1:00 p.m. to meet their academic advising group.

1:15 p.m.
Advising and Course Registration
An exercise in independent decision making. Students work with a faculty advisor to choose classes for the fall semester.

2:15-3:15 p.m.
Tours Leave Every 15 Minutes
Guerrieri University Center, Main Lounge
Campus Tours (Optional)
Students who have finished scheduling and parents will be given the opportunity to tour the campus, including the residence halls and academic facilities.

2:15-3:30 p.m.
Anticipated completion times of individually paced student course registration. Students will meet their parents in the Fireside Lounge of the Guerrieri University Center after they have completed registration.
