MSW Student Graduation Information

Hello prospective December graduate from the MSW program!

Each year at this time students are bombarded with dates and requests to RSVP for all the end of the semester events that will take place in honor of you, the MSW graduate.

This page is to help you understand and make sense of what will be happening so you can make informed decisions.

Here are some events that you will be hearing about in the next few weeks:

Licensing Exam Preparation Workshop  (Usually scheduled during the Winter semester) – sponsored by the social work department, presented by Dr. Root – this workshop is for any current graduating  or previous MSW student who is considering taking the licensing exam. Find out about the application process, overview of the exam, and tips for taking the exam. All participants will be given access to a  practice exam. Cost to help defray rooms and materials: $35

Phi Alpha  Honor Society Induction (May and December) – sponsored by the social work department Phi Alpha Honor Society – this event is for members of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and their families to honor students who have achieved the GPA and met the criteria for induction into the honor society.

Commencement –

Graduate Commencement - (Tentative-December 13, 2014, time TBD, Wicomico Youth and Civic Center) – sponsored by the University, this ceremony includes all graduating Master’s students from all graduate programs across campus. You walk across the stage, are hooded and receive your (replica) diploma. Limited tickets will be distributed for family and friends. You will wear your cap and gown.

Hopefully this will give you a heads up on upcoming events.
