"Before I Die"
The social work students in Dr. Higgins’ Fall 2012 Death and Dying and
Research I classes created a Community Art Project on the campus
of Salisbury University. The purpose of this project was to
inspire the campus community to reflect on their hopes and
dreams by addressing the question: “What do I want to do before
I die?” In the Death and Dying Course, the students studied how
being faced with death can be a catalyst for making meaning in
life. The “Before I Die “ wall project was originated by an
artist, Candy Chang, from New Orleans who had lost someone very
dear to her. The Wall was up for three weeks in October, 2012.
