Stephen Michael Emery and Paul Porter Emery Scholarship

The Social Work Department is delighted to announce its first endowed scholarship.  In 2005, Salisbury University Foundation Board member Charles Emery and his wife Barbara tragically lost their son Stephen.  More recent, Mr. Emery lost his brother Paul Porter Emery. The foundation was honored to serve as a memorial agent for the Emery family.

"When it became apparent that we would not get to see Stephen attend or graduate from college, we wanted to do something to assure that we could help others do just that," said Mr. Emery.  "Because Stephen was adopted and suffered from mental illness, we know how important social work is to the community.  We are happy to provide the first scholarship of this kind on the campus of SU."  The department is delighted to accept this generous gift in the memory of Stephen and Paul Emery.
