SU faculty and staff who violate the Smoke-Free Campus policy are subject to disciplinary action from the University. A $75 fine may be assessed. In early fall, during the initial implementation of the policy, one fine may be waived for smokers who agree to attend a cessation program.
Employees who receive multiple fines will be reported to the Human Resources Office and employees may be subject to disciplinary action. Procedures to handle such violations (and appeals) are currently being developed.
