Salisbury University hosts the 1 6th annual Eastern Shore Senior Games. Seniors age 50+ choose from a venue of events that include aquatics, cycling, fitness testing, golf, pickleball, 5K run, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Residency in Maryland is not required. Keep checking back for updates, or like us on FaceBook.
Participants compete in the following age groups:
50-54, 55-69, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+
We have taken steps to improve the event by increasing staffing, organization, and time for events that have grown and flourished such as Pickelball and Volleyball. Our tried and true sports Tennis, Track & Field, and Swimming will run largely the same as usual. We look forward to the growth of our 5K and Cycling events this year. Finally, by popular demand we will again be offering FREE Fitness Testing to all participants Saturday, May 2nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Magg's room 206.
To honor our accomplished athletes and in the spirit of camaraderie of the games we will again hold our Athlete of the Year Awards Ceremony. Athletes can nominate themselves or each other. Family and friends are also encouraged to nominate the athletes they support. Nominees that our panel finds to have shown the most athletic ability, dedication, and community support will receive recognition in the form of an award and an opportunity to speak to the audience. Light snacks and refreshments will be served. The ceremony takes place in the Perdue School Lobby, across from Magg's Gym, on Friday, May 1st (4 - 6 p.m) . All participants are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be casual. Please RSVP indicating the number of guests upon registration.
