Maryland Special Olympics Volunteer Director Lauds SU Students

On November 1, Special Olympics Maryland hosted its annual state soccer championship, and over 60 student volunteers assisted at the event. This support was composed of individual students in addition to volunteers organized through Sigma Tau Gamma, the women’s lacrosse team and the Athletic Training Club. Sigma Tau Gamma helped run and officiate the fields, the lacrosse team provided field support, and the Athletic Training Club assisted in providing medical coverage. Jeffrey Abel, director of volunteers for Special Olympics Maryland, offered great praise for the student volunteers and complimented their service and leadership.
