The Social Work Department, working in collaboration with University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Europe, provides the social work education for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, U.S. employees of the U.S. government and their family members in Europe. The program launched in March 2014 with the first M.S.W. cohort followed by the first B.A.S.W. cohort in spring 2015. The first two students under this collaboration graduate with their B.A.S.W. in December. Congratulations to Nora Swanagan and Christopher Williams! Swanagan completed her field placement at Airman and Family Readiness Center in Lakenheath, England. Williams fulfilled his field placement requirement at Behavioral Health in Vilseck, Germany. Both plan to pursue their M.S.W. in the future.
