Diana Wagner and Sandy Pope Receive Grant for Holocaust Studies

Dr. Sandy Pope (Teacher Education) and Dr. Diana Wagner (Education Specialties) received a grant from New York City’s Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights to launch a weeklong Holocaust Institute for teachers. In July 2015, 13 teachers from three states studied the Holocaust intensely. Activities included a trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, meeting an Auschwitz survivor and participating in local synagogue activities.

Holocaust Institute Accepting Applications

The 2016 Holocaust Educators Network Summer Institute is scheduled for June 26-July 2 on the Salisbury University campus. Interested teachers from middle school through college are welcome to apply for this weeklong experience. All books, housing and most meals are included.
