It is hard to believe that November is here, and we have already reached the midway point of the semester. Over the past several months, the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies faculty, staff, students and alumni have had a lot to celebrate. This year we have added 15 new faculty members to our ranks to assist with retirements and support growing enrollment.

SU Teachers of Promise Recognized at Annual Celebration
The Teachers of Promise is a Maryland State Department of Education program that recognizes outstanding interns from the state’s teacher education institutions.  The interns are nominated by their field supervisors for outstanding performance in their classrooms, academic records are investigated, and the interns’ intentions to stay and work in Maryland upon graduation are sought by the committee.

Remembering Dr. Ernie Bond

Ernest L. Bond, better known by all as “Ernie,” suddenly passed away on Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016. It was a shock to everyone, and our Teacher Education Department family miss him greatly. He added such zest and energy to everyone, coming in to work each morning with a hearty “hello” and shortly thereafter a rumble of laughter at something that touched his heart.
