In attendance: B. Barnett (Dean), J. Bing (Secondary / K-12 Professional Program, Assoc. Dean), L. Hoen (Mathematics), K. Milner (M.Ed. School Administration), D. Rieck (Chemistry), G. Rossi (PDS Coordinator), H. Schriver (Director of Field Experiences), D. Thatcher (Undergraduate Program Director), L. Verplaetse (TESOL), E. Whitford (Education Department Chair), J. Whitney (History), C. Wood (Physical Education, Teacher Education, Director)

I. Approval of minutes of October 13, 1998: J. Whitney moved, G. Rossi seconded, minutes approved as distributed.

II. Constitution and Bylaws: The November 11, 1998 draft of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Teacher Education Council were reviewed and revised. D. Thatcher moved to approve the revised Constitution and Bylaws; K. Milner seconded. The motion carried unanimously. (A copy of the revised Constitution and Bylaws is available as a separate attached file.)

III. Future meeting dates of TEC were scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 1999, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 8, 1999, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

IV. Reports:

MAT: J. Jenne reported applications for next year=s cohort are being received. Applications are due in February. Admission interviews are scheduled for March. Admission decisions due in April. The current cohort will take comprehensive exams February 6 as they start student teaching in Spring semester. The MAT program needs faculty for summer term courses, especially those to be covered by UMES.
