Sigma Theta Tau International
, Honor Society of Nursing
Lambda Eta Chapter
The Lambda Eta Chapter, offers an opportunity for recognition to nursing
majors who demonstrate superior achievement, leadership qualities, and creative
work. The Society fosters high professional standards and endeavors to
strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession. Students
will be invited for membership after completion of at least one-half of the
required curriculum and encouraged to maintain membership for
the duration of their nursing careers. The Lambda
Eta Chapter usually has two educational dinner meetings
per year, a general business meeting, the induction
ceremony with a speaker, and participates in a local
community service event. The chapter also sends a
delegation to the Biennial Convention every other year.
For the past three conventions speakers have been
selected from Lambda Eta to present their academic work
at the international convention. Two scholarships are
awarded yearly to SU undergraduate and graduate
students. For information on
the chapter, meetings, membership, or the transfer of
membership from another chapter, contact the chapter
