October 12-14, 18-21 &
26-28
The
award-winning camp musical about a nerdy florist who
gains instant fame through his discovery of a new
plant species—which happens to feed on human blood.
Based on the 1960 Roger Corman cult film, with a
musical score composed by Alan Menken in the style
of 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown,
and book by Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors
earned the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, the
Drama Disk Award and the London Evening Standard
Award for Best Musical. Not suitable for younger
audiences. Directed by Dr. Darrell Mullins, music by
Dr. William Folger and choreography by Dr. Victoria
Hutchinson.
Oleanna
November 8-11 & 15-18
This
powerful drama by David Mamet centers on the power
struggle between a university professor and a female
student who accuses him of sexual harassment.
Inspired by the 1992 Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas
hearings, Mamet’s intense play has become a focal
point of discussions on the serious implications of
professional ethics and political correctness. As
Harold Pinter described it: “There can be no tougher
nor more unflinching play than Oleanna. The last
line seems to me the perfect summation of the play.
It’s dramatic ice.” For mature audiences. Directed
by Dr. T. Paul Pfeiffer.
