"Sharing Enhancement and Reform Experiences"

Wednesday, December 10, Noon-1:30 p.m., HH Social Room

The purpose of this site is to serve as a home base and resource for all things related to the Fulton Curriculum Reform initiative, particularly for Fulton faculty as they enhance their courses within the reformed curriculum and, in the case of most Fulton faculty, begin to offer those courses for the first time during Fall 2008.  (Note:  If you are new to Fulton and the reform, "FAQ"--prepared in Summer 2007 and listed under "Resources," to the left--might make a good first stop on your visit to this site.)

What's new: This fall marks the launch of the Fulton Curriculum Reform Brown Bag Series, the schedule for which is posted to the right (a more detailed schedule is also posted in all department offices, and still more detailed information will be distributed to all Fulton faculty two weeks prior to each event).  The series is designed to provide Fulton faculty with reform-related course and faculty development opportunities, particularly regarding a number of Enhancement Menu options that allow students to engage in active learning experiences made possible--or more easily integrated into a course--by the reform.  There will also be a Brown Bag event at the end of each semester in which Fulton faculty may share their experiences with the reform and the enhancements they have employed in their courses with colleagues.  Please take a look at the Brown Bag Series schedule and attend as many as you can.  (Note: For Fulton faculty who might have missed an earlier Brown Bag event, selected notes from each of these events are posted in the menu to the left, under "Brown Bag Notes.")

What's ongoing: As always, Fulton faculty are encouraged to avail themselves of the many items listed under "Resources," to the left.  If you are working on enhancing a course and/or building an enhanced syllabus packet for FCC/UCC review, you may want to go right to the Fulton Reform Syllabus Cover Sheet and Universal Syllabus Statement, and perhaps also take a look at the collection of sample syllabi from already-approved enhanced syllabus packets.

Information for students: To access the information we are currently--and have been--providing to students regarding the reform via their own website, please click here.

Questions:  If you have any questions about the above, the course enhancement options listed on the Course Enhancement Menu (and how they may be employed, combined, etc.), COMAR regulations as they relate to enhancing a course, preparing an enhanced syllabus packet, or any other matters related to the reform (as well as questions or suggestions regarding this site), please contact: Dr. Keith Brower, Associate Dean, Fulton School of Liberal Arts at 410.543.6442 or khbrower@salisbury.edu.
