Maura's artistic base was at Ohio State University and The Rhode Island School of Design.  From there she traveled to Germany where Robert Carlson introduced her to reverse enamel painting on glass. With this technique she utilized the lens properties of glass to distort found and handmade images.  This helped her develop her own signature style and incorporate more personal aspects into her work.  She is currently teaching at Hot Soup Studio in Philadelphia, PA.  She is also a founding member and on the Board of Directors for Contemporary Glass Philadelphia.
