The purpose of ZTA is to promote sisterhood, intensify friendships, promote service, develop higher qualities of life and to promote the happiness of its members. ZTA is the third largest organization in the National Panhellenic Conference and provides lifetime membership. ZTA was founded at Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia in 1898 and was officially established at SU in 1975, making it the first national sorority on campus. To be eligible for membership, one must be a full-time student with a 2.3 GPA or above.
