Delta Gamma was originally founded at Lewis School for Women in Oxford, MS on Christmas Day in 1873. The founders were three young women learning to weave leadership and team membership with sisterhood and friendship. The Zeta Psi chapter at Salisbury State University is the newest addition to the Panhellenic System. Delta Gamma supports philanthropy of sight conservation and aid to the blind.
Their mission is to promote sleep health amongst the University community. Their meetings include different aspects on sleep health, how it is related to every day health issues, and the benefits of semi-regular nap sessions.
