Our staff is assembled, and we're ready to hit the river for another summer of Nantahala!!!

Peer Leaders:

Kyle O'Donnell -- Kyle is taking the Nantahala adventure for the first time this year as a peer leader and is very excited about the opportunity to be a trip leader. He is from Baltimore, MD and is going into his senior year as a Biology major and Chemistry minor. Kyle is in his 2nd year as an RA in the new student area, currently working in Choptank Hall. For his senior year, he will be making the move to the "real world" of off campus. Outside of the classroom, he is a member of many clubs, including Medical Careers Society, Alpha Omega Biological Society, and Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society. Recently, Kyle was honored with the Outstanding Student Leadership Scholarship. Like most SU students when he isn't tending to the needs of freshman residents he's hanging out with friends and going to the beach.

Lindsey Momberger -- Lindsay is also joining the Salisbury-Nantahala experience as a rookie peer leader this year. As a freshman, Lindsey participated in the Alaska Experience as her orientation option. She is pumped to join us in the Noon Day Sun for a little rafting and climbing. Originally from Baltimore, MD, Lindsey is going into her sophomore year as a Social Work major with a Spanish minor. Lindsey hasn't been shy about jumping into leadership roles as a member of Girls on Top and Best Buddies.

Course Directors:

Byron Hughes -- This is Byron's 4th year with the Nantahala trip. The past four years have been a blast, and he's looking forward to another year as a course director for the trip. Byron's originally from Lanham, MD in Prince George's county (DC metro area). When not with the Nantahala trip during the summer, Byron works in Residence Life as the Assistant Director of Operations and Judicial Affairs. Byron is an SU alum, graduating in 2000 and taking part in almost every aspect of campus life while a student. Following graduation, Byron moved to Indiana and received a master's degree in higher education administration from Ball State University. Byron is in his 5th year back at SU as a full-time staff member. Spare time, there isn't much when you live where you work. But, when he can get away from campus, he manages to get into pretty much whatever will take his mind away from the serious side of life!

Dr. Heather Holmes -- Dr. Heather Holmes, who prefers to be called Heather, is the Director of Student Activities, Organizations, and Leadership. Heather is returning to the trip after a 4 year hiatus! She's very excited to travel back to the land of the noon day sun and all of the adventures that awaits us at NOC! Don't expect to leave this experience without Heather emphasizing over and over how important it is to your college success to get involved! Outside of her work with student organizations and leadership Heather is a proud member of the #1 SU Relay for Life fundraising team--TEAM ACE! If you like basketball, then expect to see Heather at every Men's Basketball game this season, cheering on the GULLS and her husband (the coach)! When not working or advising our student leaders, Heather spends a great deal of time with her husband and two children. They   enjoy many activities with my husband and two children including basketball, baseball, cycling, traveling, and going to the beach!
