Purpose
In the college system, there is a Panhellenic
Association, of which each sorority woman is a member.
The Panhellenic Council, which is a group of
representatives from each sorority, guides the
Panhellenic Association. Throughout the year,
Panhellenic provides many opportunities for
strengthening the ties of Greek Sisterhood. The council
sponsors many activities including philanthropic
projects, Panhellenic joint meetings, Formal Recruitment
Leadership Retreat, and Greek Week. The Panhellenic
officers and elected delegates from each sorority serve
as the Panhellenic Council. This is a coordinating body
that seeks to express high ideals for which each
sorority stands.
The Salisbury College Panhellenic Association
consists of all members of the NPC recognized women’s
fraternities on our campus. The College Panhellenic
Council is the governing body of the Panhellenic
Association and is composed of one delegate from each
chapter, as well as an elected Panhellenic Executive
Committee. Throughout the year, the Panhellenic Council
provides many opportunities for strengthening the ties
of Greek Sisterhood. The council sponsors many
activities including philanthropic projects, Joint
Panhellenic meetings, Formal Recruitment, Leadership
Retreat, and Greek Week.
As the coordinating and governing body, the
Panhellenic Association seeks to express and uphold the
standards contained in the Panhellenic Creed. These
standards include good scholarship, serving our college
community, keeping high standards of ethical conduct and
making the best of our fraternity life by working in
harmony with each other. It is Panhellenic that unites
every sorority woman, regardless of her individual
affiliation.
Creed
We, as Undergraduate Members of women's fraternities,
stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health,
for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to
the best of our ability, our college community.
Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony
with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall
guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the
development of character inspired by the close contact
and deep friendship of individual fraternity and
Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise
human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness,
is the tenet by which we strive to live. -
