MAC Address / Game Console Registration

All game consoles and wired media devices should be pre-registered.  If you are having connectivity issues with your game console or wired network media device, please double check your Ethernet cable to make sure it is plugged in securely on both sides.

It is highly recommended that you connect your game console or other network device up via the wired Ethernet connection, for performance reasons.  Using a wireless connection for gaming tends to introduce latency which can impact the performance of your game.  If you must use wireless, please connect only these devices to the SU-Open network.

*NOTE*:  You CANNOT use a wired or wireless hub/switch/router in your room UNLESS it was assigned to you by housing.  We do not allow and do not support personal hubs/switches/routers at this time.

If you are still having problems getting your game console/dvr or other network media device online, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 410-677-5454 or at http://support.salisbury.edu/user .  Please be prepared to include the following information:

-First/Last Name
-Building / room
-Phone #
-Type of network device you are trying to use
-Mac Address of the network device (visit mac address location if you are having trouble finding where the mac address is)
