V. Final Remarks

I ask you to reward quality and compensate achievement.  Your past support for higher education has produced remarkable successes for all of the USM institutions, perhaps Salisbury University most of all.  Please do not undo what you so painstakingly and productively fostered.

Higher education is the present and future economic engine in Maryland, producing an educated workforce and citizenry, attracting businesses and individuals who come to Maryland, and providing technological innovations and value-added services to our communities.  Public higher education is deserving of your support.

Please support adequate, equitable funding for Salisbury University and all USM institutions.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman and members of your Subcommittee, for your time, attention, and thoughtful consideration.
