As required by the Board of Regents (BOR), Salisbury University is preparing and submitting a Facilities Master Plan (FMP) for approval in 2014. The FMP covers all aspects of campus growth and development, including new construction, land acquisition, land use, facilities renewal, environmental issues, transportation issues and utility infrastructure for the next 10-20 years. The process of preparing the FMP includes campus and community workshops, in-depth analysis of space needs on campus, utility surveys, and evaluation of available properties in proximity to campus. Organizers expect this portion of the effort to occur during the 2013-2014 academic year. The FMP will then be submitted to the Chancellor and University System of Maryland (USM) staff for review for consistency with their requirements, forwarded to the BOR Finance Committee for recommendation and raised to the full BOR for approval during summer 2014.
