Dr. Rosemary M. Thomas Biography

Rosemary is a native West Virginian. She grew up in Fairmont, where she graduated from East Fairmont High School. She is a graduate of Clemson University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications. She earned her Masters in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from West Virginia University.

Rosemary grew up in a family that taught her public service was not an option but a responsibility.  She has always been active with community, state and national clubs and organizations.  Some of these include the American Cancer Society, General Federation of Women's Clubs, United Way. Quota International, Rhododendron Girls State as well as Girls Nation, Kiwanis and Toastmasters.   

Professionally, Thomas was a founding member of the West Virginia Alumni Directors Association. She is an active member of CASE, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and has taken part in several workshops and conferences nationwide.  She has participated in the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Society annual conferences and has also been a participant at two Blackbaud Annual Philanthropy conferences.
