06:17 PM Theft On October 12, 2009 at approximately 6:30 pm, two Salisbury University students were followed by subjects in a vehicle, as the students walked from Burger King on S. Salisbury Blvd to campus. Three men exited the vehicle on Lorecrop drive and chased the students, who ran to the TETC building. One of the students dropped a cell phone while fleeing, which was picked up and stolen by one of the men who were giving chase. The investigation is on-going.

A Salisbury University Student reported that she was assaulted by a stranger in the intersection of Eastern Shore Drive and College Avenue. On 10/14/2009 at approximately 4:30 P.M., the student was walking along College Ave when a man operating a vehicle in the area yelled for her to "come here." The man asked the student "Where do you live?" and then grabbed hold of the student; however, she was able to break free and run away.

09:42 PM Fire Ashes from a smoking device ignited a trash can in a St. Martin Hall resident's room. The fire was extinguished before any damage or injury occurred. A copy of the University Police report was forwarded to the Office of Housing & Residence Life and the University's Environmental Safety Manager.

09:45 PM Assault (2nd degree) A student reported that she was assaulted during a verbal argument with a non-student in Choptank Hall. The incident is under investigation.

09:24 PM Fire A heater in Caruthers Hall ignited a small fire. The fire was extinguished prior to any damage to the structure. The building was evacuated, and no injuries were reported. A copy of the police report was forwarded to the University Environmental Safety Manager for review.

03:35 AM Intoxicated pedestrian
(Off-Campus)
A University Police Officer was flagged down by a pedestrian on Wayne Street. The pedestrian, who was intoxicated, reported that his car was missing, and possibly stolen. The officer located the pedestrian's vehicle, presumably parked exactly where the pedestrian had left it. Due to this person’s level of intoxication, the officer transported him to his residence.

Officers responded to Severn Hall in reference to a reported assault that had occurred somewhere at an off-campus party. The complaint was made by a third party. Officers met with the victim, who declined to provide sufficient information for an investigation.

University and City of Salisbury police officers responded to a 911 call from a man who reported that he was "dying, second, by second" at a particular fraternity house off-campus. Officers eventually located the man, who was not a student, near College and Camden Avenues. The man, who was highly intoxicated, was not from the area and been left behind at a party by friends. The man's family members responded to the police officer's request to retrieve the man. (Note: the man was not injured, and it is unknown why he reported to be dying.)

00:29 AM Verbal Dispute A University Police Officer observed a vehicle park in front of Support Services. The three occupants exited the vehicle, chased one another, and became engaged in an argument. The officer identified the three, all of whom declined police assistance.

11:05 PM Assist other police agency University Police officers were called to Perry Drive to assist the Salisbury Police with a reported large fight in progress. No fight was observed; however, a large crowd associated with a nearby party was dispersed from the area.

01:43 AM Alcohol related illness An intoxicated person (non-student) was found unconscious in the Rt.13 underpass. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
