Attempted Robbery (May 3, 2005)

4/30/05  12:15 a.m.-12:25 a.m. 

A resident student reported that while he was walking in the area by the west end of Devilbiss Hall, he was followed by a group of 8-10 males. They engaged him in conversation and asked him for his cell phone. At this time, they began to assault him. He was able to break free from his attackers and run to Severn Hall to seek assistance. The student refused medical treatment. The suspects were last seen running toward the north of campus. They are described as African-American males, 16-18 years old. Some of the suspects were wearing bandanas over their mouths and the colors were black, blue and white, and red and white. Three of the suspects were described/dressed as follows:

  1. wearing a white shirt, black jogging style pants, Jordan tennis shoes, stocky build, 5'7"
  2. wearing black shirt, black pants, Nike tennis shoes
  3. wearing black baseball cap, black shirt and red pants

University Police, Salisbury Police and the Sheriff's Office were notified, but the suspects could not be located.
