On 2/17/05 at approximately 1:18 a.m., the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to Mulligans Restaurant on U.S. Rt. 13 South for the report of a shooting. As the first officers arrived, witnesses gave them a description of the suspect's vehicle, which was located and stopped at the intersection of Rt. 13 and College Avenue. Additional officers arrived at the scene of the incident and were met by the victim and a number of witnesses. The witnesses advised the officers that the victim and the suspect had become involved in a verbal argument inside the restaurant near the doors. Both subjects exited the restaurant, and the suspect went to his vehicle and retrieved a shotgun. The suspect struck the victim with the shotgun until the victim was able to break away and flee. The suspect then fired the shotgun three times, striking a vehicle and the victim. The suspect then re-entered his vehicle and left the scene. He was later located and apprehended by the officers. The suspect was positively identified by the witnesses. The firearm and other evidence was recovered. The victim sustained a gunshot injury to his left side and was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was admitted to the hospital and is in stable condition.
