Off-Campus Crimes (January 7, 2005)

Robbery and Assault With A Firearm:

On December 30, 2004 at approximately 2:05 a.m., Salisbury Police responded to a residence on Newton Street. Investigation revealed that a SU student was assaulted and robbed in front of a house located on Ohio Avenue. The victim stated that he was attacked by four males wearing all black, with long white t-shirts hanging out below a black shirt. The robbery victim ran to his residence on Newton Street, where he and several other people were approached by a group of approximately 10 males. They were all dressed the same, wearing black, with long white t-shirts hanging out below a black shirt. One of the 10 males pulled out a handgun and shot a non-student in the abdomen. The victim was treated at PRMC and released. The Salisbury Police are investigating.

 

Burglaries of Student Apartments and Houses:

The Salisbury Police are investigating numerous burglaries that have occurred at off-campus, unoccupied student residences. Property taken in these incidents include laptop and desktop computers, video game units such as X-Box and Playstation, stereos, DVD's and CD's. The Salisbury Police are asking anyone approached by someone trying to sell this type of property, or anyone with information about these incidents, to call the Salisbury Police at 410-548-3165.
