On Saturday morning, 12/4/04 at 2:33 a.m., an anonymous* caller reported to the Salisbury Police that an unknown person, operating a primer-gray colored van was on Bateman Street and was attempting to get women into the van. The caller reported that the man claimed to be affiliated with SafeRide.
SafeRide uses only white Salisbury University vans that are clearly marked and identified as SafeRide. Anyone who observes anyone who reports to be affiliated with SafeRide and you become suspicious, should call the local police or the University Police immediately, 410-543-6222.
* It should be noted that the caller would not give their name to police dispatch and refused to meet with an officer. Therefore, this information could not be verified, but nonetheless we felt that the information should be distributed to the campus community.
