On Thursday, 12/2/04 at approximately 10:02 p.m., a resident of Nanticoke Hall reported that her purse was stolen from her while she was removing her ID card to enter the building. Three males approached her, grabbed her purse, and she was knocked down. The suspects fled on foot in the direction of the library parking lot. The victim ran after them but lost them as they ran across the front grass area of Holloway Hall. A student was leaving the library, saw the victim and called 911 from his cell phone. University Police responded and searched the area along with Salisbury Police. The suspects were not located. Taken during the incident were the student's purse and contents. Her cell phone was later located near the library and the purse was found near Domino's Pizza south on Route 13. The only description of the 3 suspects is African-American males, wearing dark coats-possibly pea-coats and light-colored pants. The male witness reported that they may have been approximately 5'5" tall.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the University Police, 410-543-6222, Crime Solvers, 410-548-1776, or use Silent Witness.
