Recent Off-Campus Incidents (September 12, 2003)

University Police makes information available to the campus community of nearby, off-campus incidents that may be of interest or concern. The following two incidents occurred this week:

On Thursday, 9/11/03 at approximately 4 a.m., officers of the Salisbury Police Department responded to a residence on Elizabeth Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, it was found that a male suspect had entered the residence through a window and had made contact with one of the occupants. The male subject threatened the occupant of the residence with a weapon, then took U.S. currency from the victim's wallet. The suspect is described as a male, mid 20's to early 30's, 6' tall, wearing dark clothing and dark boots. Once the suspect received the currency, he fled from the residence.

On Friday, 9/12/03 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers of the Salisbury Police Department met with the victim of an assault that occurred while the victim was walking south on Camden Avenue. The victim was approached by a light-colored Ford Bronco or Chevrolet Blazer. As the vehicle passed, one of the occupants leaned from the vehicle and fired a paint ball gun, striking the victim with several paint balls. The vehicle then left the area. Any assault of this type constitutes a felony assault and will be fully investigated by the Salisbury Police.

If anyone has any information regarding either of these cases, they are asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.
