In an effort to keep the campus community informed of crime that occurs in the area that students, faculty and staff reside and frequent, the following information is being provided. In these particular incidents, the victims are not connected to the University. The first incident occurred in Fruitland and the next one in Salisbury.
Press Release from the Fruitland City Police Department:
On 1/16/03 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a male suspect gained entry into a residence on Sheldon Avenue, threatened the female victim at knifepoint, and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled from the residence on foot. Anyone with any information about the suspect in this case should contact the Fruitland Police Department at 410-548-2804 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.
Press Release from the Salisbury City Police Department:
As a result of the investigation of a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Princeton Avenue on 1/21/03, warrants have been issued charging Dante Maurice Miles with attempted 1st degree murder. Miles is described as a light-skinned black male, approximately 5'6", 260 lbs., with a thin mustache.
